The "L" was a concern for us initially too. After spending our first weekend in the trailer we quickly realized that the space and function of the "L" were far more usable than we expected.
Another unexpected advantage of the "L" was when our trailer was broken in to back in April while in storage. The "L" made it difficult to get to the rear of the trailer with the slides all in. So they gave up with out stealing anything. I Just had a busted door window to fix.
