I have to agree we are going regardless of the cost of fuel. We enjoy the travel and the places we visit too much not to go.

We have actually found we spend the same or a little less when we travel. Some reason at home we tend to run around more and eat out more than we do when on the road. Does not matter if we are home or on the road, still putting fuel in the tank.

Also if it cost you $900 more for fuel, over what period of time is that? 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 6 weeks? In 2008 when fuel prices spiked our friends thought we were nuts for not cancelling our trip that fall. We spent $400 more fuel than we would have before the price spike. That $400 was over 3 weeks. So for an extra $133 a week we still got to have a fantastic vacation. Well worth the extra money we did not originally budget for. We ate out less that trip and had no problems finding the $133 a week in savings from restaurants.
