A long time ago there was a bad storm in Dubuque, Iowa. I had left the year before so missed it. My office was in an 8 story building. Every window on the north side of the building was knocked out. Also there was a nunnery(?) for retired nuns and one of them was trying to run from one building to another, and was struck and killed by hail.
Fortunately my experience with hail have been mostly marble size or smaller. Well..., once in Denver a little bigger and it knocked a 3 inch hole in the bathroom vent cover.
