If you do much travel and camping, there WILL be times you will not be able to keep the truck and trailer in straight alignment. If your tail gate is "that" close, then I advise looking for an alternative. Like... removing the tail gate and replacing with one of those tail gates with the cut out for the king ping to pass over.
