We have camped at Assateague State Park here in MD for the last 10 or so years and I can tell you that the salt water sea spray WILL take its toll on metal stuff. Our bikes are all rusty. The screws on the inside of the camper windows look corroded (we like the windows open ). I have noticed surface rust on lots of stuff, like the awning/compartment door gas struts.

x2 on this, We camp at the same spots as this fella and yes things will start to rust almost immediately so I hose off the metal on the camper and truck and bikes every 2 days then WD-40 every moving part, it helps but it is a losing battle. Mother Nature always wins.
