Try these step mats from camping world.

I gave my other RV step mats away, these really clean your shoes before you enter. I have a larger one outside in front of the step. Works GREAT! did I say they work great? One of the best investments I've made. Actually, my carpet is light similar to what I had at a few of my stick homes, and you just have to take your shoes off and use a few rugs in the high traffic area like in front of your sink and front door or near the fridge.....or the carpet will get dirty. doesn't matter if it's an RV or Home. Dirt is dirt. I always had my carpet clean at my stick homes once a year if I figure they needed it or not. Carpet does helps hold in a little heat though.
