John, we've done 800 miles per day a couple of times. Like you we were on interstates so made good time. It's tiring but do-able. If you get tired, I'm sure you know to pull into a rest area and get a couple of hours of rest rather than risking falling asleep at the wheel. Drive safe.

We took I-37 out of San Antonio and US 281. Haven't tried other routes.
