I feel safer inflating our G614's to 110 psi, than I was inflating the Marathons to 80 psi, especially after seeing how bad those Marathons started failing in the tread area and sidewalls. The only dangerous time with inflating the tires is when they are being mounted and they are being inflated to seat the beads on the rim. The last time I purchased the G614's, was at a commercial tire shop, and they got the tires onto the rim, inflated them to the point they would hold air, then placed them into a cage to complete the seating process and inflated to close to the max pressure. After that process, add air as needed, although they don't loose air like many other tires.
