There was a shade. It was all but useless as insulation as it is paper thin. That window faces directly into the sun and the temps are in the triple digits here with ZERO shade (and no we can't move the rig (long term lease at job site). It was so hot back there it melted the glue that held the shade onto the roller!!!

The board I installed is backed by 1" thick Styrofoam. Today is test day and it has made a significant difference.

If you have the front windshield and are stuck in the desert, I highly recommend this mod.
