Wind cave

A couple years ago we took our granddaughters on a trip through South Dakota. They were getting Junior Ranger badges at all the National Parks we visited. When we got to Wind Cave I went on the Wind Cave tour with them. The tour guide explained the tour and told us we would ride the elevator back up once we reached the bottom. Not so on that tour, we were told to wait a few minutes on the elevator. On that day the elevator had broken down and people were trapped. Our guide announced we had to climb back to the top. We started up taking breaks occasionally but everyone made it. The granddaughters went to the desk to get their junior ranger badge. I tagged along and told the ranger presenting to badges that at 74 years old I needed a badge for surviving climbing out of Wind Cave. South Dakota is a great place to see with lots of thing to do I am sure you will enjoy the trip. If you are in Sturgis stop by the Loud American Roadhouse and eat a loud American burger.
