That's what I use barmar. Extend the slide spray all the moving parts, bearing and gears. Let dry then retract them all. The last time I did this I brushed and scraped this old residue since it seemed to be building up. It took a long time to do and I'm not sure it's absolutely necessary but I feel better for it.
