My mirror was attached with double stick tape and small nails at each corner. If you look closely you should just be able see the puttied nail holes. I remove it by takng a flexible plastic putty kniife and slowly worked my way around liffting it away. It actually cam off pretty easy once I got started. There was nt very much of the adhesive residue left on the wall but I was not worried about that since I was going to replace it.
Here is a picture of the medicine cabinet that replaced it. I used the original mirror for the cabinet door. Also added a light above it on it's own switch to helped avoid shadows when looking in mirror
