Add another vote for the Mopeka tank sensors. I thought maybe they were a gimmick, but they really do work well. I usually only use the furnace for a 3 week hunting trip in November/December each year. I was concerned that I would need extra propane and had thought about going to the 40 lb tanks. They will fit in my rig, but I found that I only burned about 15% of one tank during that 3 week trip the first year. I use electric heat a lot and have wireless thermometers in the belly, basement and garage. Once I get the rig warmed up, the electric heaters keep it there with no problems, even and sub-zero temps for a few days. Never had a propane generator though. I've heard they really suck down the propane. If you're stationary, you might consider renting a 100 lb cylinder delivered. Price is reasonable in many places and some one else has to do the heavy lifting.
