I have a couple of problem clips also. One of the two clips on the front hatch only has one screw attached. The drivers side hatch is broken at the top where the pin slides through. The passenger side spring is unsprung. The pins constantly want to slide out of the brackets. I use a pair of channel lock pliers and push them back in.
I'm looking for a better solution myself next time I'm at a parts store.
