Installing a transfer switch isn’t rocket science. If you think you can do it and will try you probably can. Figure where you are going to put it and where you will route the wire. Hooking it up is paint by the numbers. Will you wire a generator or install a receptacle?
I just last week made a transfer switch for my motor home. I used to Square D 220 volt breakers. I have a connector between them. Pull the connector up for the generator and push it down for shore power. You CANNOT have both on or off at the same time, impossible. It’s of course a manual switch but will never give any trouble. If I can make a transfer switch and install it you can install one. All you haft to do is try. I’m a machinist not an electrician.
