The Andersen does put the ball about 5" behind the axle but with your one ton that shouldn't be an issue. My one ton short box handles it just fine so not sure what the issue is. Especially if you didn't have that action with the same truck but a different hitch. Doesn't really make sense that the Andersen would cause that since it doesn't move.

How old is your truck? How are the shocks? I have air bags to help mitigate bounce as well.
