Number one thing to remember is MOST salesmen want to make a sale and DON'T know what they are selling having never owned a RV. Do your research and if possible buy your RV first and then size your truck next. I didn't do that on my first truck going from a Nissan pickup and the salesman telling me I could tow anything with my new 2001 F-250 diesel SRW. My first RV was a 2880 Montana and I was over 1000# over my GVW of my truck and needed air bags to get bumper off ground. My second RV was a 2010 3000RK pulled by a 2007 3500 SRW and I am still about 400# over my GVW loaded lightly.I went with the 3500 instead of 2500 thinking the extra 700# would be enough. NOT.Do your research and weigh your equipment. A lot of these new Montanas are getting bigger and heavier and need a dually.
