Steve, Take the GVWR of the trailer x .25%. Figure that for your "actual" pin weight. Buy a truck that will carry that weight on the rear axle and not exceed the trucks GVWR or GAWR. We fulltimed for 10 years if that counts for anything. Now 8 months in the Montana yearly.

I know several folks that are towing heavy with 3/4 trucks. Beyond my risk level.
