My last rig was an HDT; just changed over the winter to a Mega Cab. Maintenance was less on the HDT then the pickup.
I ran the HDT 5 years and didn't have any repairs beyond regular maintence ($200 every 15k oil/filter/fuel filters). But when my scr needed replace on my pickup it was $3200 in parts.
I got better mpg in the HDT then my pickup is getting towing the same 5er. Insurance is a wash between them.
Parking does get to be a challenge; I do like parking the Ram vs the HDT. But, we are looking for another HDT, plan to be back into another one within the next year.
