Everything is a trade off
I have them and primarily got them for noise reduction as we are usually parked within a few feet from neighbors or noisy kids or road or train noise. I notice it is quieter from road noise at night when it's important. I guess you could use a fan and drown out the noise.
I'm sure it makes some difference in temps but may be harder to discern. We have wintered in Florida and do okay with only one a/c from Nov thru April.
Obviously weight and cost are the downside but I get the upside for years to come.
