Spanish flu victims (those who died) were typically 20-40 years of age, healthy part of the population. A world war was also going on at the time, which demanded the movement of large amounts of people.
Covid19 victims (those who die) typically are elderly or people with compromised immune systems. Its really more like a highly contagent version of the standard flu, which also kills thousands of immuno compromised humans each year. Precaution is necessary, but panic is not.
