Just remember to shut turn off the furnace when refueling or getting ready to enter a tunnel. Having devices spark to try and light themselves can be bad in these areas. This is the main reason one is not supposed to travel with propane tanks open, but it's the spark from devices using propance that are the concern.
After reading about this a couple months ago in other posts we have decided to head south with our furnace set on 50-52 in order to avoid winterizing. But it probably is good advise to shut it down when getting fuel.
