Oil and changes have always been a hot topic, and always will be. For myself, experience, reading test reports, etc, have helped me decide. Test reports, etc, notwithstanding, years ago I had a Toyota 4X4 pickup, with the turbo diesel in it. I suffered a timing belt failure and had to have a new head installed. The mechanic called me and asked when I'd had the cam bearings changed, as they were like new. I said NEVER, and this was at 70,000 miles. He asked what oil was I using, and I said Delo 400, 15-40. He simply said don't change what you are doing.
