I don't have any experience with the Flex-seal spray, but I will say to seal ANYTHING on the 5er that needs tape - I will be using GORILLA - waterproof patch and seal tape. Just be sure of one thing - get it on where you want it because you ain't taking it off. Comes with a backing so you can "dry" fit and then install.
