Here is my take , my previous fifth wheel had the old MorRyde LRE suspension, I replaced the rubber shear springs in it, and it vastly improved the ride. It was getting pretty bouncy ,the shear springs were shot. I thought it rode great for a leaf spring suspension .

My present fifth wheel ,and my fourth has the disc brakes ,and the comfort ride suspension, with shocks, and by far the best ride of any fifth wheel I have towed. Yes the comfort ride is well worth the money. Its still a conventional leaf spring suspension ,but its pretty smooth with those slipper springs. I can't compare to IS ,have never towed a fifth wheel with IS. IMO its good enough, not sure what more I could ask for .

On edit, the Roadmaster Comfort ride is also any easy conversion, we did the install, and it took us about 3 hours or so, not a hard install.
