No need here for the weight police, the OP states he is careful not to overload. The weight police can go back to riding their high horse!
Now to the original question... I have the air lift bags on my truck and feel minumium difference between the before and after ride. I think they do help on bridges and sudden dips. I'm sure others have a more sensitive derrière than I, but after nearly 40 years of bouncing around Tulsa's crappy roads in lightly loaded semi's, any pickup seems smooth to me 😀 I think the advantage of bags over timbren's is in their adjustability, while the timbren's advantages are cost and ease of maintenance.
By the way the general consensus in the RV world is that it's not necessary to stop at weigh stations. Although that's a subject that's debatable and a whole nother can of worms!
