MY Sony DVD/Blu ray player sends Surround Sound to my remote speakers and Sound Bar and Subwoofer and has to be set to DEMO 5 on the sound mode button on the DVD remote to get Surround for the TV when on Satellite,cable etc.., , When My DVD/Blu Ray is turned OFF ONLY the TV itself has sound,When i had my Samsung system on my 2012 it was similar
