Had this happen to me once years ago. The COE campground used a backflow preventer that had a little plastic piece sticking out. In those days I used one of those cheap brass regulators. The screen in the mouth of the regulator pushed on the little plastic piece and restricted the water flow. Since then I've changed to a much better regulator and put a small hose on the faucet before you get to my regulator. No mater what you don't want to do without a regulator. It's rare, but there are campgrounds out there that have pressure high enough to damage your rig.
