TV bracket swivel arm needs to move up

I am installing a 50" Samsung smart TV to replace the OEM 50" Insignia TV.
The mounting holes on both TVs are identical, but I had to go to Lowes and find some metric screws M8 x 1.25 x 25mm long to fit the Samsung. The new TV fits perfectly on the bracket plate - except that it is not centered in the cabinet opening. It sits way too low. The arm needs to move up 4.5" or so.

I am going to do just that...move the whole bracket up on the back wall of the cabinet. That looks easier than trying to manufacture an adapter plate of plywood or metal to get the TV mounted higher so it will swivel into the cabinet opening. I hope they ran the in-wall backup plywood full height behind the cabinet back. I did a few searches to see if there were any threads with the same experience and did not find any during my 5 minute search. Oh well - only one way to find out.

I will update this thread with my results.
