At 72, I just got my first pair. The usual suspects, gunfire, sirens, flying, etc. reduced my hearing a bunch. I got the Kirklands, too. Although I don’t have anything to compare them with, I can hear birds, listen over Bluetooth, turn them up and down, and hear normal conversarion. I’m a happy camper.
