Battle of Cedar Creek CG, Strasburg, VA

Good for overnight only. We were on a 3-week trip and this CG was to be our last stop. The first hint of trouble should have been when we called to get directions to the CG from I-81. There were kids yelling in the background and dogs barking. The woman didn't even cover the telephone when she yelled to the kids to shut those dogs up. We did, however, have a reservation for 5 days, so we drove on up. We did have a site as promised - back-in right on the creek, 30 amp, full hookup for $22 a night (no discounts). The view was great - no kidding. However, the swimming pool was green, there was trash all over the grounds and in the fire pits, the miniature golf course was completely overgrown, and the manager told us that she was never in the office! Early on a Sunday morning, the manager's husband was out in the CG operating a remote-controlled car, quite loud, at high speeds. After we went out to tell him that some folks might still be sleeping, he picked up the car and left. About an hour or so later, the manager came down and really gave us a bunch of poor attitude. So early the next morning, we packed up and left. Went to Creekside CG about 20 miles south in Edinburg, and we will go back there many times. It was GREAT!!! We would stay at Battle of Cedar Creek CG overnight only, without unhooking, and only if nothing else available. Hey, that's how you learn! And we found a really great CG in Edinburg. Happy camping!
