The filler neck is about 2 inches in diameter- The air return hose is approximately 1/4 inch- I think that is why we have trouble using the truck island- The big rigs don't have filler necks, only a 3 inch opening directly into the fuel tank so the displaced air in the tank can escape easily- We use the RV island exclusively and don't mind the wait as I have time to stretch my legs and inspect our equipment- This has been time well spent on several occasions but that's another story for another day- Just my 2 cents worth- Don
