If it is a molded cover connector there is not much you can do other than tape. There are some special tapes other than standard electrical tape that I think are stronger and bind to themselves. Kable Kontrol adhesive heat shrink wrap tape is primarily used for repair of electrical cabling and in wire insulation applications.
