We have the TMPS.There is a mod that will now allow them to measure tire temp as well as pressure.It is a upgrade to the firmware that has to be done by a dealer. We had ours done at a rally.
Blowout .. A sudden and catastrophic tire failure. No Tire pressure monitor can warn of a blowout only a loss of pressure. Note that many "blowouts" were not blowouts at all but a gradual and undetected loss of tire pressure causing the tire to fail and perhaps separate from the rim. The damage caused is the same... The TMPS will alert you to the gradual loss of psi and prevent the failure.
