Thanks, Steve, for the tips on restringing. We just don't feel like it's something we can do without endangering our marriage, so we're going to send the shade to Brad and Suzanne, the MOC members who are "professional restringers." Carl Youngren gave us their contact info, and we think their price for the job is very fair. But, I'm keeping your tips handy in case we ever need to restring a smaller shade, because that job might be something we could tackle on our own.
