I have towed Oregon coast many times. Here is some advice I would suggest. I say this based on observation and not first hand experience. When you come to a city and the speed limit says 30 or 40, ya darn well better not venture too far over the limit. An out of state license is an invitation for the local cops to help you assist the local economy.

On a more positive note: make sure you spend several days at Fort Steven state park at the very top of the Oregon coast, just west of Astoria. And, make sure you plan a day trip into Astoria to visit the Coast Guard museum. You will thoroughly enjoy it. If you'd like additional suggestions, contact us at: denandannie@frontiernet.net
