Edit: OK, now that I have thought about it, I see how. Do you leave it that way in transit? ...and how do you keep bees, yellow Jackets, and bugs out of the fan housing (between the filter and flap) when parked for long stays? I would be afraid of finding a yellow jacket nest in there some day when removing the filter for cleaning!

On my old trailer, the flapper disappeared when I forgot to secure the tabs when we hit the road one time. There is a guy on another forum that makes and sells a sheet metal flapper that is pretty much indestructible, for those times when you forget to latch it down.
