We use a whirlpool whole house filter from Home Depot or Lowe's. We went with the whole house filter intended for stick homes because it passes 6 gallons per minute which does not restrict the water flow to the Montana. I have the model number around here somewhere if you need it. Just about any whole house filter will fill the bill. I looked at those intended for RV use but most restrict the water flow to 3 gpm or less and we didn't want to restrict the flow that much. There are some for RV's that are rated for higher flow.

If you go with one intended for a stick home, like this one, then you need these hose fittings, available at the same stores.

1 - Brass Male Hose to MIP adapter - 3/4" x 3/4"
1 - Brass Female Hose to MIP adapter - 3/4" x 3/4"
