I have found that the warranty can be negotiated, just like everything else. The 100K drive train will catch most of the big items early on. However, was glad I had the 100K factory warranty on the exhaust system when 2 of the 3 DEF sensors went out. Everything now costs so much to replace. Suspect you could get the warranty for $2K, which might well be worth it.
