You can use paper towels or napkins as TP as long as you don’t flush it. We use a step can with a kitchen size garbage bag in it in the trailer. This means no plugs in the black tank, ever. If you did that at home, you could use alternative papers.

No smell, since the step can had a lid. Go ahead, say eeeew if you want, but trust me, it is sanitary and does not stink. And I know we are not the only ones doing it.
