The metal duct in the living room is up against the floor and encased below that...at least on mine james. Dave, the floor in front of the door is pretty thin since the entry stairs fold up under it. The vented stair risers do let in a bunch of cold...especially if you have six point leveling where four of those leveling rams have huge holes into the underbelly and passthrough. ALSO...look between the bottom stair and the side wall of the entry closet. On mine, there was an opening about an inch wide by at least six inches tall. I crawled in behind that area from the passthrough and glued in a piece of wood to seal it up. John
