Maybe not as much of a pain as I thought at first. I took another photo from the bottom looking up. The bracket that is welded to the frame is open on the bottom. Removing the two bolts should allow the gear pack and shaft to drop down. Once it drops down, I think all the parts would slide off the end of the shaft. Then the issue is fabricating a spacer.

Good idea Ron, I'll call Lippert. I have months to figure this out
