An easy 30 minute and 10 buck or so permanent fix.
After our first trip. I installed some 8-24 or 32 x 3/4 SS machine screws and SS Nyloc nuts (from McMaster-Carr) with a flat washer under that nut. Our HW heater is directly over one of the fenders and two of those holes got SS #10 sheet metal screws. 15,000 miles and 3 years later, none have 'disappeared' or for that matter, even loosened.
