I put one in after I got my current tow vehicle. When I was on vacation in TN, a trucker contacted me on channel 19 and informed me that I had a low tire on the camper. When I pulled off it was at 30 lbs. pressure. It may have saved me a lot of damage or possibly even an accident.

I use a CB and I think they are valuable to anyone who travels. If you have a CB so equipped, the weather information that is on it can also be very valuable as previously mentioned. There are a lot more advantages than disadvantages IMHO. There can be people on there talking trash from time to time but I simply adjust the squelch on it to hide the noise anyway. I know this cuts the range a little on the reception but it makes a much more pleasant atmosphere when someone comes on there that you don’t want to hear.
