We were talked out of ordering them, and have no regrets. The reasons given were extra weight, extra $$, more costly to replace if broken, and minimal return on investment. Noise has not been a factor for us, and even though we live in Florida, we do often go where it gets a lot colder, and have had no problems in that regard either. I guess it boils down to personal preference; if you feel they would be right for you, by all means get them.
