First trip witn new Monty

Got to take our new 3000K on its maiden voyage this weekend. Have to say it tows nicer than our old Tahoe 25SDS. My TV is a 2000 Dodge 2500 SB 4X4, 5 speed, diesel, Bully Dog Chip and 3.55 rear end. Because of the wide range between gears and the high rear end I had problems with old 5th wheel on steep or long grades. Considerd changing rear end gears but opted for a Gearvendors instead. Best decision I made other than buying the Montana. The Gearvendors makes my 5 speed an 8 Speed. The real benefit is the gear between 3rd and 4th and 4th and 5th. I use the 4th over to tow and I turn 1900 rpm at 65 mph and 2000 at 67mph. 2100 rpm at 70 mph but I am not that fond of towing that fast. No problems on long or steep grades, held 65 with no problems. The other advantage is because the transmission is in 4th it is not working at all, direct through the output shaft. When not towing I can go to 5th over and am at 1750 rpm at 75 mph. I know this is a long post but I wanted to share this info.
