Chris:
I know what my DW would say if I ever tried to charge a batter anywhere in the house, fortunately I have other places to care for my batteries.

It is OK to tow without the battery, however should something happen and you dropped your unit on the road the emergency breaking system would not work. Your tail and signal lights are not affected by the battery in the RV.

You must have a battery installed to operate the slides or leveling system.

I would take the battery with me, install it and while the unit is at your home plug it in, the converter will not only assist with the operation of the slides it will also keep the battery charged. Before returning it to storage just disconnect the ground wire on the battery as there is some (minimal) drain on the battery even when the battery disconnect is off. If the battery is in good condition and fully charged there should be no problem with leaving it in cold temperatures for a couple of weeks.

Spring is coming.....
