My response is somewhat related to how often you are hooking and unhooking. If seldom, I would go with having the generator in the truck. We did this and had no problem whatsoever in obtaining help with lifting the generator in and out. I suppose if you are often having to do this (like every week or so), it could be a pain. We would still go with the truck mount as opposed to giving up the RV storage space. We were full time and perhaps that would also make a difference as to the need for more RV storage space?
