The repacking has started . . .

Because we had only rain yesterday, not snow, we started moving winter stuff from the trailer to the storeroom (will be down to one storeroom, furniture only, when we pull out in May) and moving summer stuff from the storeroom to the trailer. This time, the packing/repacking for going on the road is a bit more complicated than just packing for a few months in just one climate. We definitely won't need our longjohns, pacs, and other heavy-duty winter things on the Texas coast, even during the winter, but, being Texas natives, we know we need to take a lightweight jacket or two plus a few winter things just in case . . . So, we're essentially packing for two seasons in Texas, summer and what passes for winter. Because we'll be park hosts for a minimum of 6 months (and maybe as long as 9 months) at the Matagorda Bay RV Park, on the Colorado River and Texas Gulf Coast, we really need only shorts, tees, and sandals for what passes as summer wear.

It would be nice to throw open the trailer storage doors and the storage rental place doors and have some of you more-experienced fulltimers step in and make the packing decisions for us. Do the extra yard decor items go or stay? Do we need extra dog leashes? (No, we can buy more if we need them.) But, since the packing fairies aren't going to appear during the night, we continue to go through the "do we need it, really?" or "can we live without it?" game. We're also reading the MOC boards for good tips about packing for fulltime living. Thank goodness it's snowing heavily today, giving us a needed break from having to make all those packing decisions.
