I don't know where you came up with two posters, I just counted 19 all different, excluding me. I'm not about to wade through all these posts to answer your question, but here are some suggestions...based on my fourth set of AGMs on two RVs. My most recent change out was for AGMs that were eight years old:

1. AGMs will not work properly with just "any" charger.

2. AGMs will normally last longer than other batteries...four to 10 years.

3. If using a converter/charger, it really isn't designed to be a good battery charger. It's main purpose is to provide 12 volt power for the RV while plugged in to an A/C outlet. Since the converter is designed to not exceed a voltage of about 13.5 volts, it will never fully charge the batteries. Also, after it has succeeded in partially charging your batteries, it will then start to boil off electrolyte, as the "float" voltage is too high.

4. Here are some advantages of AGMs (the primary disadvantage is higher cost). Most of this is plagiarized from the internet:

- It last longer than usually two standard flooded batteries.
- It is designed to endure harsh climates and fulfill demanding powers.
- AGM batteries can handle high-voltage loads.
- It guarantees extended battery life and recharges quickly.
- Resistant to great vibrations
- No need for maintenance as it is non-spillable.
- It comes with great mounting flexibility.
- Can be mounted any place, no need for venting.
- Can be in any position, upside down if needed.
